The Roald Dahl Creative Writing Competition Results

Writing has always been the Achilles heel for a lot of language learners and we are trying our best to provide a firm foundation for our students, avoiding the temptations of copying and chatgpts!! To help in the process, apart from other writings during the year, we run the  Roald Dahl Creative Writing Competition annually. 

The winners have now been announced for the Roald Dahl Creative Writing Competition 2022-2023 in ESO and BTX and a lot of them come from tutorial groups C!!

The quality of the stories was exceptional, some really original tales with a really impressive use of vocabulary by many and a good control over grammatical items, too.

BTX2 winner: Francisco Rosu (B) using amazing, native-like vocabulary, here with his tutor and English teacher, Joan Carles Esteve, & BTX1 winner: Pau Solanilla (C)  with his story about not taking anything for granted.

ESO4 winners:  Lluís Matheu (C) with his remarkably written stormy poem & Elna Homedes (B) with her touching story about finding and then losing a good friend in a heart-breaking situation, & ESO3 winner: Kimi García (C) with his well-written story about an unexpected relationship with…anxiety.

ESO2 winners: Dani Carrera (D) and his tale of even monsters deserving to be treated equally (and his English teacher & tutor Laura Canals) & Aina Vialis (C)  with her story about not running away from a problem, (and her tutor Gemma Sanchez)

ESO1 winners: Alejandro Delgado (C) with his tale of the magic husky and environmental problems & Aina Díaz (C) with her story of a woman being denied her dream just because she was a woman but then later on inspiring her granddaughter. *Special mention for Berta Nadal (C) with her tragic story of the consequences of feeling lonely.
