English Corner

To begin with, this month we would like to send HUGE congratulations to Anna Cidraque and Marti Bonafonte from BTX2 A for their amazing results in the Cambridge CAE Advanced exam (C1), registering Proficiency (C2) levels in various parts. Along with their hard work and dedication, thanks to their English teachers over the years… from Christine Connor in infants with her incredible English classes to Carolyn Black in Extraescolars and her enviable record of exam success for students!!!
In May and June we will be offering students in ESO 4 and BTX2 the chance to take the Oxford Test of English. This is an online test which can accredit levels up to and including B2 with an official certificate.

Talking of Oxford and Cambridge, the annual University Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge University took place on 3 April this year. See: https://www.theboatrace.org/

This was the 76th women’s race and the 167th men’s race. The spoils were shared with Cambridge winning in the women’s and Oxford in the men’s race. The annual race is held on a 4.2-mile (6.8 km) tidal stretch of the River Thames in south-west London.
