{"id":9315,"date":"2026-03-23T16:25:21","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T15:25:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/?p=9315"},"modified":"2026-03-26T12:06:24","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T11:06:24","slug":"la-genetica-no-ho-explica-tot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/la-genetica-no-ho-explica-tot\/","title":{"rendered":"La Gen\u00e8tica no ho Explica tot"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Us heu preguntat mai per qu\u00e8 dues plantes de la mateixa esp\u00e8cie que, aparentment, haurien de ser iguals poden cr\u00e9ixer de maneres tan diferents? Durant molts anys, s\u2019ha pensat que la gen\u00e8tica determina les nostres caracter\u00edstiques f\u00edsiques i la manera com funcionem. Per\u00f2 si aix\u00f2 \u00e9s aix\u00ed, com pot ser que dos bessons gen\u00e8ticament id\u00e8ntics puguin tenir personalitats tan diferents, o diferent propensi\u00f3 a tenir una determinada malaltia? Doncs perqu\u00e8 hi ha un altre factor clau que influeix directament en la manera com s\u2019expressen els nostres gens: l\u2019entorn i l\u2019epigen\u00e8tica.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagineu-vos una mena de llapis que \u00e9s capa\u00e7 de col\u00b7locar unes anomenades \u201cmarques epigen\u00e8tiques\u201d al nostre codi gen\u00e8tic, fent que determinats gens s\u2019expressin o, en cas contrari, se silenci\u00efn. Doncs \u00e9s precisament aix\u00ed com l\u2019entorn regula la nostra expressi\u00f3 gen\u00e8tica, i modifica els nostres trets f\u00edsics. Els darrers aven\u00e7os cient\u00edfics en gen\u00e8tica s\u2019han centrat sobretot en el recentment descobert \u00e0mbit de l\u2019epigen\u00e8tica, l\u2019\u00e0mbit de la gen\u00e8tica que estudia totes aquestes marques condicionades per l\u2019entorn que modifiquen les nostres caracter\u00edstiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aleshores, com es modifica la seq\u00fc\u00e8ncia d\u2019ADN? Ara sabem que, o b\u00e9 es pot modificar directament, amb el que serien les mutacions, o indirectament, amb el que es coneix com a epigen\u00e8tica (l\u2019entorn). Tot i ser vies de modificaci\u00f3 molt diferents, hem demostrat que estan profundament interrelacionades i, per a poder analitzar-les i estudiar-les, hem utilitzat la planta model en estudi gen\u00e8tic vegetal: Arabidopsis thaliana, f\u00e0cil i r\u00e0pida de cultivar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amb el primer experiment hem demostrat que un error en el complex encarregat de silenciar un gen pot causar greus problemes al creixement a la planta. En aquest cas hem estudiat l\u2019impacte d\u2019una marca silenciadora al gen que produeix la floraci\u00f3. S\u2019ha vist per tant, que l\u2019abs\u00e8ncia d\u2019aquesta marca fa que la planta floreixi abans, massa d\u2019hora, quan encara no t\u00e9 prou energia per sobreviure. Aix\u00f2 evidencia la import\u00e0ncia d\u2019aquests processos epigen\u00e8tics en el desenvolupament de la planta, i ens fa pensar que sense ells, aquests organismes no podrien sobreviure, i com a resultat, s\u00f3n mecanismes imprescindibles per a la vida.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"224\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image7-1024x224.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9317\" style=\"width:790px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image7-1024x224.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image7-300x66.png 300w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image7-768x168.png 768w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image7-1536x337.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image7.png 1999w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>El segon experiment ens ha servit per evidenciar l\u2019impacte de les mutacions en les caracter\u00edstiques f\u00edsiques de la planta. Hem plantat dues variants naturals que presenten \u201cvariabilitat gen\u00e8tica\u201d (sabem que acumulen un conjunt de mutacions que les fa gen\u00e8ticament diferents). Mitjan\u00e7ant l\u2019an\u00e0lisi del creixement d\u2019aquestes variants, hem constatat com aquesta variabilitat influencia les caracter\u00edstiques f\u00edsiques i fisiol\u00f2giques de la planta. Donat que la planta no presentava problemes de creixement, els resultats han confirmat que les mutacions no tenen per qu\u00e8 ser negatives, sin\u00f3 que s\u00f3n la base de la diversitat biol\u00f2gica i de l\u2019evoluci\u00f3. Encara m\u00e9s, podem dir que aporten eines a l\u2019organisme per adaptar-se millor i aix\u00ed, sobreviure i preservar l\u2019esp\u00e8cie.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"313\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image4-1-1024x313.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image4-1-1024x313.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image4-1-300x92.png 300w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image4-1-768x235.png 768w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image4-1-1536x469.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image4-1.png 1999w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Per posar a prova aquesta capacitat d\u2019adaptaci\u00f3, es va repetir la plantaci\u00f3 i es van regar amb aigua i sal. Per una banda, vam poder observar com cada variant responia d\u2019una manera diferent a aquest estr\u00e8s provocat; una gastava totes les seves energies en la producci\u00f3 de fulles i l\u2019altra en la de llavors. Tot i poder-se relacionar aquest comportament amb la \u201cvariabilitat gen\u00e8tica\u201d de qu\u00e8 parl\u00e0vem abans, els resultats obtinguts de l\u2019experiment no han estat molt concloents donades l&#8217;excessiva quantitat de sal acumulada i absorbida.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"168\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image6-1024x168.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image6-1024x168.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image6-300x49.png 300w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image6-768x126.png 768w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image6-1536x251.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.ipsi.cat\/elfil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image6.png 1999w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Quan s&#8217;analitzen conjuntament aquests dos blocs de resultats, apareix una idea fonamental: les dues vies de modificaci\u00f3 influeixen directament en el creixement, el desenvolupament i la capacitat d\u2019adaptaci\u00f3 dels organismes vegetals. Aix\u00f2 trenca amb la visi\u00f3 cl\u00e0ssica de l\u2019her\u00e8ncia i ens mostra una natura molt m\u00e9s din\u00e0mica i complexa del que ens imagin\u00e0vem fa nom\u00e9s cinquanta anys. Despr\u00e9s d\u2019haver analitzat l\u2019impacte d\u2019aquests dos mecanismes naturals en el desenvolupament d\u2019Arabidopsis thaliana, podem concloure que no es pot parlar de gen\u00e8tica sense parlar d\u2019epigen\u00e8tica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Per\u00f2 de qu\u00e8 ens serveix tot aix\u00f2? Quines aplicacions poden tenir tots aquests coneixements te\u00f2rics a la pr\u00e0ctica? Les plantes s\u00f3n essencials per a la vida al planeta: produeixen oxigen, constitueixen la base de l\u2019alimentaci\u00f3 humana i sostenen els ecosistemes. Entendre com funcionen gen\u00e8ticament i epigen\u00e8ticament \u00e9s clau per garantir la superviv\u00e8ncia en un m\u00f3n marcat pel canvi clim\u00e0tic. Necessitem plantes que puguin resistir sequeres, inundacions i canvis sobtats de temperatura cada vegada m\u00e9s freq\u00fcents. Les t\u00e8cniques gen\u00e8tiques i epigen\u00e8tiques poden ajudar-nos a millorar la capacitat d\u2019adaptaci\u00f3 dels cultius, assegurant aix\u00ed l\u2019aliment del futur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">En aquest sentit, l\u2019epigen\u00e8tica obre un ventall de possibilitats encara m\u00e9s ampli que la gen\u00e8tica cl\u00e0ssica. A difer\u00e8ncia de les mutacions, els canvis epigen\u00e8tics poden ser reversibles i dependre de l\u2019ambient. En l\u2019\u00e0mbit de la medicina, cada vegada hi ha m\u00e9s evid\u00e8ncies que moltes malalties no depenen nom\u00e9s dels gens heretats, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 dels patrons de silenciament epigen\u00e8tic. Les ter\u00e0pies epigen\u00e8tiques, basades en canvis en l\u2019entorn i els h\u00e0bits de vida, ja s\u00f3n una realitat. Tal com expliquen professionals especialitzades en aquest camp, factors com l\u2019alimentaci\u00f3, el son, l\u2019exercici o l\u2019exposici\u00f3 a t\u00f2xics poden influir en l\u2019expressi\u00f3 dels nostres gens i fins i tot afectar les generacions futures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aleshores\u2026 Quins reptes i futures investigacions ens pot oferir l\u2019epigen\u00e8tica? Quines possibles aplicacions li trobarem m\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de la Medicina i l&#8217;Agricultura? Serem capa\u00e7os de frenar l\u2019envelliment modificant aquest codi de marques? I de trobar la cura a malalties que creiem incurables? Quins s\u00f3n els l\u00edmits d\u2019aquesta nova ci\u00e8ncia?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019epigen\u00e8tica \u00e9s encara un camp amb un llarg cam\u00ed per descobrir. Ens mostra que els \u00e9ssers vius no estem completament determinats pel nostre ADN, sin\u00f3 que l\u2019entorn pot deixar una empremta al genoma.
