23 January 2024: We had the enormous pleasure of welcoming the fantastic Cristina from Burlington to IPSI ESO1 to give workshops on characters and animals from English Literature. We went on a tour of some of the most well-known books, from Harry Potter <\/em>to The Jungle Book <\/em>to Peter Pan <\/em>and to many many more!  We even saw that there were similarities between The Lion King<\/em> and Shakespeare\u2019s Hamlet<\/em>!!  Cristina told us about some of the stories and the characters and then we had to answer a series of questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Literature<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Three students in each session were invited to take part in in the Prize Question round which is similar to the \u2018Who wants to be a millionaire<\/em>\u2019 TV programme. If not sure, the student could choose 50\/50 to remove two incorrect answers, ask the others in the audience or even phone a friend\u2026 the first call was to Cristina\u2019s mum (!) and then for the second call Cristina\u2019s mum was busy so we called one of my friends, Anna. Thankfully, they both got the answer right and the participating students won a super magic pen!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a lovely time, it was a lot of fun and Cristina was very happy too!! She was gobsmacked with the levels of participation and the English being used!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gal\u00e0xia Sapena ESO1: <\/strong>Today\u2019s literature class was very funny. I\u2019ve learned new things that I didn\u2019t know and that was interesting. I liked this experience very much because Cristina made things very entertaining and funny. I didn\u2019t feel bored at all and I hope that we could repeat it again. Thank you for all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neti Simonsohn Husid <\/strong>ESO1<\/strong>: <\/strong>Hello, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the class. I learnt a lot of stuff about books, movies etc\u2026 it was very enjoyable and hopefully we have a class like this in the future. Thanks a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aran \u00c1lvarez ESO1:<\/strong> Hello, I\u2019m Aran and I feel that this was a really interesting presentation. Christina is a really fun person and she gave us pens. I hope that they return, bye!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alex Guri ESO1:<\/strong> Hey I really enjoyed the class and I\u2019ve learnt a lot about English literature and books, it would be amazing if we could do another class like this.  Btw thanks for the orange pen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liam Bell ESO1: <\/strong>I loved this class because the teacher was  laughing all the time and I felt very comfortable. I learned a lot about  books, movies etc\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clara Juberias ESO1: <\/strong>The class was very funny, I enjoyed it a lot and I learned a lot, too. Cristina was very good in her work and the presentation was very good. It was an experience that I would repeat, without questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gerard Bracons ESO1:<\/strong> Hi! Today we talked about the writers and the stories of different characters. I learnt how to say “skull” and more things. It was wonderful and I liked the presentation, how Cristina explained things, and I was surprised by the call of her mom! Very Good guys\u2026 it was amazing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
